Event: Special Interest Groups in Genealogy: Launch of Irish, German, Brickwall Busting and Writing Family History SIGs!
Time: 11:00 am -- 1:00 pm
Location: Secaucus Public Library, Secaucus, NJ

Come and participate in the launch of the Hudson County Genealogical & Historical Society's Special Interest Groups (SIGs)! The SIGs are being formed to enable family historians to connect with others sharing a common topical interest, collaborating to help each other move their research in new directions.

The Special Interest Groups will normally meet outside of the regular Society meetings in person and/or virtually (to be determined by the members of each SIG) and will be led by a moderator from among the Hudson County Genealogical & Historical Society membership.

At the January meeting we'll be launching four SIGs based on member feedback -- Irish Genealogy, German Genealogy, "Brickwall Busting" and Writing Your Family History -- and these will break into small discussion groups following the business portion of our meeting.

As part of launching our "Brickwall Busting" Special Interest Group, you can email your own brickwall scenario (along with your name and an email address where you can be reached) to: sigs@hudsoncountynjgenealogy.org. At the meeting we'll do our best to discuss submitted genealogy brickwalls but because time at the meeting is limited, priority will be given to the brickwalls submitted by HCGHS members.
