About This Database
The Hudson County Genealogical & Historical Society is pleased to offer this database donated by Brian Patrick Molloy. It includes 200 pages of baptismal records from Saint Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Bayonne, NJ. The current records span the years 1884-1894.
St. Mary Star of the Sea Church was the first Roman Catholic Church in Bayonne, and opened at 14 Street and Avenue C in 1881. The congregation began around 1852, however, and held services on Evergreen Street near Hobart Avenue until the present building was completed.[1]
